Administrator stored XSS via unsanitized settings
Published Mar 27, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Plugin Planet Simple Ajax Chat 20231101 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through admin settings. The settings save-and-render path stores administrator-supplied values without sufficient sanitization and later emits them without adequate output escaping. Exploitation requires administrator privileges and a multisite installation or a site where unfiltered_html is disabled; injected scripts execute when a user opens an affected page.
