CVE-2024-29504Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Browser script execution via unsanitized code-view HTML

Published Apr 10, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2024

Cross-site scripting in Summernote 0.8.18 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through crafted code-view HTML. The code-view exit path restores unsanitized HTML to the editor DOM, causing embedded script elements to execute when code view is deactivated. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled editor content to reach code view, and the injected JavaScript runs with the page's browser permissions.
