Remote code execution via reflected error class
Published May 2, 2024 · Updated Aug 13, 2024
Code injection in Hyland Alfresco Content Services before 23.3.0.23 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through Transfer Service. A malicious Transfer Receiver returns an errorType naming an attacker-chosen class, and ExceptionJsonSerializer loads and reflectively instantiates it. Exploitation requires enabled replication and a transfer target directed to the malicious receiver; the constructed class runs in the repository process.
