Database credential disclosure via exposed exception logs
Published Apr 16, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Information exposure in Laravel Framework 8 through 11 allows remote attackers to read database credentials from an exposed log file. Database connection failures place PDO constructor arguments, including the username and password, in stack traces written to storage/logs/laravel.log. Exploitation requires a deployment that serves this private path over HTTP; Laravel documents public/ as the web root, and the CVE is disputed.
