Browser script execution via unescaped action parameter
Published Mar 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 28, 2024
Reflected XSS in givanz VvvebJs before 1.7.7 allows remote attackers to execute script in a victim's browser through save.php. The PHP handler copies the action query parameter into an HTML error message without escaping, allowing injected markup to become executable script. Exploitation requires a victim to follow a crafted link, after which script runs with the page's browser-origin access and can read sensitive data or perform actions available to that session.
