Router compromise via oversized VPN client IP
Published Mar 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Buffer overflow in Shenzhen Libituo LBT-T300-mini firmware 1.2.9 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via /apply.cgi. The handler copies an oversized vpn_client_ip value into a fixed-size buffer without enforcing the destination's size limit. An unauthenticated network request is sufficient; the corruption can compromise the router or interrupt its service without user interaction.
