Unauthorized invitations via improperly retained team invite IDs
Published Apr 5, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper access control in affected Mattermost Server releases allows remote authenticated team admins to obtain team invite IDs. SanitizeTeam returned the complete team object whenever ManageTeam was present instead of independently requiring InviteUser before retaining InviteId. The bypass requires a team with Add Members removed from team admins; the disclosed ID still permits unauthorized user invitations.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
