KnowBe4 Phish Alert Button, Second Chance, and PasswordIQ clients allow local users to redirect updates through a writable configuration file. Inadequate permissions let ordinary users replace the update-server URL, causing a later update check to contact an attacker-controlled server. Affected versions require CVE-2024-29209 and user interaction to execute supplied code with administrative privileges.
