CVE-2024-29208Network attack vector

System password change via unverified old password

Published May 7, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Improper access control in Ubiquiti UniFi Connect device firmware allows remote authenticated users to change the system password via the API. The password-change functionality accepts a replacement password without validating the existing password. A high-privilege API session is required; successful exploitation changes device credentials and can enable unsupported system changes.
