Unauthenticated file disclosure via public upload directories
Published Apr 26, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Information exposure in Chad Butler WP-Members 3.4.9.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to read user-uploaded files without authentication. The upload handler writes user-supplied files beneath wp-content in publicly reachable user directories without access restrictions or a directory index guard. A site must enable a file or image registration field; knowing or enumerating an upload URL exposes only stored file contents.
