CVE-2024-29198Network attack vector

Sensitive-data access via unrestricted TestWfsPost requests

Published Jun 10, 2025 · Updated Jun 17, 2025

SSRF in GeoServer 2.0.0 through 2.24.3 and 2.25.0 through 2.25.1 allows remote attackers to read network-accessible data. The unauthenticated TestWfsPost Demo endpoint accepts an attacker-supplied request destination and makes the request from the server without restricting it to expected targets. The endpoint is exposed when Proxy Base URL is unset, enabling internal-network enumeration and access to sensitive resources such as cloud-instance metadata.
