CVE-2024-29155

Pairing denial via consecutive PairReqNoInputNoOutput requests

Published Oct 16, 2024 · Updated Sep 2, 2025

Denial of service in Microchip RN4870 firmware before 1.44 allows physically proximate attackers to block Bluetooth pairing. The pairing state handler fails to recover when it receives more than one consecutive PairReqNoInputNoOutput request, leaving the device unable to complete the pairing process. An attacker must be within Bluetooth range and inject a second request immediately after a legitimate one; the bounded consequence is loss of pairing availability.
