Browser script execution via unsanitized innerHTML assignment
Published Mar 18, 2024 · Updated Nov 21, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Fabric through 1.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through crafted HTML input. The htmlToPlainText function assigns its html argument directly to a temporary div element's innerHTML property without sanitization or validation. Low-privileged network access is required, and successful injection runs code in the browser context, allowing session-data access or actions as the affected user.
