Unauthenticated command execution via pickle request bodies
Published Apr 16, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Insecure deserialization in BentoML 1.2.0 through 1.2.4 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via crafted POST requests. The main service accepts application/vnd.bentoml+pickle content and routes attacker-controlled request bodies into pickle.loads through its data-container handlers. No authentication or user interaction is required; code executes with the privileges of the server process, exposing its data and control.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
