CVE-2024-29073Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary file read via overlooked LaTeX package

Published Jul 22, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Arbitrary file read in Ankitects Pty Ltd Anki 24.04 allows remote attackers to disclose local files through a crafted shared flashcard. Anki's LaTeX command blocklist omits the bundled verbatim package, so \verbatiminput reads an attacker-chosen path into a rendered image. Exploitation requires the recipient to process the crafted card with a LaTeX distribution installed; card JavaScript can send rendered file contents to the attacker.
