Attestation bypass via unchecked PCR selection

Improper input validation in tpm2_checkquote in tpm2-software tpm2-tools before 5.7 allows remote attackers to falsify TPM state reports. The utility verifies the composite PCR digest but fails to compare the untrusted input file's TPML_PCR_SELECTION with the selection signed in the quote, so compatible digests are assigned to different PCR slots or banks. Exploitation requires control of the PCR input and typically local or privileged access to extend substitute PCRs, enabling a compromised boot to pass attestation.
