Local privilege escalation via uncontrolled search path
Published Aug 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 14, 2024
Uncontrolled search paths in Intel VTune Profiler and oneAPI Base Toolkit before 2024.1 allow local users to gain elevated privileges. Intel identifies an uncontrolled executable search path but has not disclosed the affected file, process, or lookup order. Exploitation requires an authenticated local user and user interaction; successful path hijacking executes attacker-controlled code with higher privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
