CVE-2024-29006Network attack vector

Authentication bypass via unverified forwarding headers

Published Apr 4, 2024 · Updated Mar 27, 2025

Authentication bypass in Apache CloudStack 4.11.0.0 through 4.18.1.0 and 4.19.0.0 allows remote attackers to spoof API source IPs. The ApiServlet client-address routine accepts the first configured forwarding header without verifying that the request came from an approved proxy. No authentication is required to supply the header; bypass requires a deployment that trusts the derived client address for access decisions.
