Unauthenticated ticket access via hardcoded API credentials

Published Aug 21, 2024 · Updated Oct 21, 2025

Hardcoded credentials in SolarWinds Web Help Desk 12.8.3 Hotfix 1 and earlier allow remote attackers to read and modify ticket data. OrionTicketController routes inherit BasicAuthRouteController, whose authentication logic compares Basic Auth input with literal developer credentials. No legitimate account is required; the embedded account exposes all help desk tickets, including sensitive contents, and permits ticket changes.
