Authenticated restricted-data access via update API
Published Jun 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper access control in Dell Secure Connect Gateway 5.18.00.20 through 5.22.00.18 allows remote authenticated users to read restricted data. The internally exposed update REST API invokes backend database APIs reserved for administrators without enforcing equivalent authorization. An administrator must first enable the API, and exploitation requires a low-privileged account; the reported consequence is restricted-resource disclosure only.
