CVE-2024-28957Network attack vector

Communication interference via predictable packet identifiers

Published Apr 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 29, 2024

Predictable identifiers in NXTech Cente TCP/IP Network Series allow remote attackers to interfere with device communications. The stack generates guessable TCP and UDP source ports, DHCPv4 and DHCPv6 transaction IDs, IPv4 header IDs, and IPv6 fragment-header IDs. No authentication or user interaction is required; using predicted values enables traffic that disrupts communications, with no reported data disclosure or modification.
