CVE-2024-28917

Cluster-scope privilege gain via undisclosed access control

Published Apr 9, 2024 · Updated May 3, 2025

Improper access control in Azure Arc-enabled Kubernetes extensions allows attackers to obtain cluster-scope privileges in connected clusters. Microsoft has not published the affected authorization locus or the access-control operation that mishandles extension requests. Exploitation requires adjacent access and existing high privileges, and the published assessment limits the resulting impact to disclosure of confidential cluster data.
