Remote code execution via destructor gadget chain
Published Mar 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 15, 2024
PHP object injection in FriendsOfSymfony1 Symfony1 1.3.0 through 1.5.17 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP commands. A crafted object places sfOutputEscaperArrayDecorator in Swift_KeyCache_DiskKeyCache::_keys, causing its destructor to pass attacker-controlled values to call_user_func. Exploitation requires consuming application code to unserialize untrusted input; successful use executes code in that application's PHP process.
