Browser script execution via unsanitized admin preferences
Published Mar 27, 2024 · Updated Aug 29, 2024
Stored XSS in Ampache before 6.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to run script in another user's browser via admin preferences. The admin preference update handler stores crafted values for api_hidden_playlists, libitem_browse_alpha, custom_blankalbum, custom_blankmovie, and similar fields without neutralizing HTML attribute content. Administrator privileges are required to save the payload, and a victim must render the stored preference value; script execution is confined to the victim's browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
