CVE-2024-28849Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Proxy credential disclosure via retained redirect header

Published Mar 14, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Information disclosure in follow-redirects 1.15.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to obtain proxy credentials via redirects. In _processResponse, cross-domain redirect filtering calls removeMatchingHeaders with a pattern that omits Proxy-Authorization while removing Authorization and Cookie. The calling application must send proxy credentials and follow a cross-domain redirect controlled or observed by the remote user; disclosure is limited to the retained proxy credential.
