CVE-2024-28830Network attack vector

Automation user secrets exposed through audit logging

Published Jun 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Sensitive-data logging in affected Checkmk releases allows remote authenticated users to expose automation user secrets in audit logs. When an automation secret changes through the REST API or user interface, the Setup component records it in clear text instead of redacting it. Administrator access is required to view the secrets; affected versions are 2.0.0 through 2.0.0p39, 2.1.0 before 2.1.0p45, 2.2.0 before 2.2.0p28, and 2.3.0 before 2.3.0p7.

Exploitability

Present is not the same as exploitable

Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
