CVE-2024-28809

Appliance service access via exposed firmware credentials

Published Sep 30, 2024 · Updated Sep 30, 2024

Credential exposure in Infinera hiT 7300 5.60.50 allows adjacent attackers to access appliance services via firmware packages. The firmware update package stores a sensitive service password in cleartext, exposing hardcoded credentials to package recipients. Access requires obtaining the package and reaching the appliance's adjacent management network; the credentials grant entry to multiple services.
