CVE-2024-28756Public exploit

Traffic interception via missing server-certificate validation

Published Mar 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 28, 2024

Improper certificate validation in SolarEdge mySolarEdge before 2.20.1 for Android allows physically proximate attackers to read and alter app traffic. The HTTPS client accepts self-signed X.509 server certificates for four SolarEdge cloud endpoints instead of rejecting untrusted certificates. An attacker must control the app's network path; interception exposes photovoltaic-system location and household energy-consumption data and permits in-transit modification.
