CVE-2024-28746Network attack vector

Unauthorized resource access via merged menu permissions

Published Mar 14, 2024 · Updated Mar 20, 2025

Improper permission handling in Apache Airflow 2.8.0 through 2.8.2 allows remote authenticated users to access unauthorized UI resources. The FAB auth manager rewrites ACTION_CAN_ACCESS_MENU permissions as read permissions, collapsing distinct checks when it builds a user's permission set. A low-privilege account can consequently view variables, connections, configuration, and other resources despite lacking the required menu permission.
