Browser script execution via Photo Collection markup
Published Mar 13, 2024 · Updated Nov 1, 2024
Cross-site scripting in DedeCMS 5.7 Photo Collection allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in a victim's browser. The public proof submits an img element with an onerror handler through Photo Collection, and the resulting page executes the handler instead of treating it as text. Exploitation requires user interaction; public evidence does not establish persistence, required content-author privileges, or effects beyond the browser.
