Arbitrary button deletion via forged administrator request
Published Apr 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Simple Buttons Creator 1.04 and earlier allows remote attackers to delete buttons through an administrator session. The administrative endpoint accepts a POST containing method=delete and a button identifier without validating an anti-CSRF token. Exploitation requires inducing a logged-in administrator to load attacker-controlled content; the demonstrated consequence is deletion of the selected button.
