Stored script execution via permitted DFXP uploads
Published May 2, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Web Bistro Enhanced Media Library 2.8.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts. The media upload MIME-type allowlist accepts DFXP subtitle files without blocking embedded script content, so uploaded payloads persist in published pages. Author-level access is required to upload the file, and execution occurs only when another user visits affected content, exposing that user's browser session to script actions.
