CVE-2024-28397Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Host command execution via dict_keys object exposure

Published Jun 20, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Code injection in Js2Py 0.74 and earlier allows context-dependent attackers to execute arbitrary host commands via crafted JavaScript. Object.getOwnPropertyNames returns a Python 3 dict_keys view that Js2Py wraps as a PyObjectWrapper, exposing Python attribute traversal. The consuming application must evaluate attacker-controlled JavaScript after disable_pyimport is called; exploitation escapes the JavaScript sandbox with the Python process's privileges.
