Database reads and writes via SQL variable overwrite
Published Apr 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2024
SQL injection in LIMBAS 5.2.14 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read or alter database data through a crafted request. In admin/tables/gtab_ftype.dao, a missing or nonnumeric ftid leaves the request-derived sql variable attacker-controlled, and the code appends it directly to a query. Administrative access is required; demonstrated boolean- and time-based probes disclose database contents and permit data modification without interrupting service.
