Administrator-level code execution via unrestricted file upload
Published Apr 30, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in ReCrystallize Server 5.10.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through Manage Files. The licensed Manage Files handler accepts ASPX and code-behind files without restricting dangerous types, and IIS then serves the uploaded web shell. Administrative access and an active license are required; loading the uploaded page runs attacker-supplied commands under the privileged IIS process account.
