Authenticated file deletion via unrestricted background relocation
Published Nov 1, 2024 · Updated Nov 6, 2024
Arbitrary file deletion in IBOS 4.5.5 allows remote authenticated users to delete server files through login-background settings. LoginController accepts an attacker-controlled background-image path and moves the referenced file into data/login without restricting its source path. Access to backend management and a valid session cookie are required; moving the source file removes it from its original location.
