Uncontrolled resource consumption in GitLab CE/EE before 16.8.5 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service via label descriptions. Label-description emoji processing accepts crafted emoji strings that consume all available server resources instead of bounding resource use. A valid account with label-editing access is required; affected 16.9 releases are before 16.9.3 and affected 16.10 releases are before 16.10.1.
