Victim-privilege XSS via unfiltered annotation links
Published Mar 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 21, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Argo CD allows remote authenticated users to execute script through a crafted application link. The application summary rendered link.argocd.argoproj.io annotation values directly into anchor href attributes without rejecting JavaScript URLs. An attacker needs permission to modify a managed resource, and a victim must click the link; the script can then invoke the API with the victim's authority, including authority to create, modify, or delete Kubernetes resources.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
