Authenticated service crash via unbounded Cookie parsing
Published Mar 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC15 15.03.20_multi allows remote authenticated users to crash its web service via a Cookie header. R7WebsSecurityHandler uses sscanf without a field-width limit to copy the Cookie password value into a fixed-size stack buffer. A crafted request to a /goform/ path overwrites the return address; the CNA rates privileges as low, while independent reproduction found /goform/execCommand unnecessary.
