Browser script execution via unsanitized wildcard settings
Published Dec 12, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Stored XSS in Image Access GmbH Scan2Net before 7.40 allows remote attackers to run JavaScript in another user's browser via filename settings. The /cgi/uset.cgi?-cfilename page stores unsanitized Default-user filename and wildcard values, then renders the composed name as active script. No login is required to change those Default-user values, but another user must later open the page; execution remains in that user's browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
