Incorrect type conversion in OFFIS DCMTK 3.6.8 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a malformed DICOM file. DVPSSoftcopyVOI_PList::createFromImage casts an unverified DcmItem::search result to DcmSequenceOfItems and calls card(), misdispatching through an incompatible object type. Exploitation requires processing a crafted DICOM object; the demonstrated path crashes during a virtual call, while the CNA reports arbitrary code execution.
