CVE-2024-28118Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via Twig callback registration

Published Mar 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Code injection in GetGrav Grav before 1.7.45 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through crafted page content. The exposed Twig extension path lets page templates call registerUndefinedFunctionCallback, rewrite system.twig.undefined_functions through grav.config.set, and reach getFunction, which dispatches the registered PHP callback. An authenticated administrative user with page creation or editing rights can enable unsandboxed Twig in front matter and gain server-level code execution.
