Stored script execution via dynamic-DNS username
Published Mar 28, 2024 · Updated Nov 21, 2024
Stored XSS in Technicolor TC8715D firmware TC8715D-01.EF.04.38.00-180405-S-FF9-D allows remote attackers to inject JavaScript. The dyn_dns.asp handler stores the User name value and later places it into a generated page without neutralizing script content. Exploitation requires Wi-Fi proximity but no authentication or user interaction, and the injected browser code can disclose information or interrupt service.
