Browser script execution via stored Device Location payload
Published Mar 9, 2024 · Updated Aug 19, 2024
Stored DOM XSS in Hitron CODA-4582U and CODA-4589 firmware 7.2.4.5.1b8 allows remote authenticated users to run browser scripts. The Device Location view at index.html#advanced_location renders a stored attacker-controlled payload without neutralizing script markup, enabling remote-resource fetches. Exploitation requires Wi-Fi proximity, access to the router administration panel, and a user to load the poisoned view; executed script can disclose information.
