API-key disclosure or code execution via URL traversal
Published Mar 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2024
Path traversal in LangChain 0.1.10 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to disclose API keys or execute code via load_chain. try_load_from_hub passes an attacker-controlled relative path to urljoin without verifying that the resolved URL remains under the intended GitHub repository. Reachability requires an application to pass attacker-controlled path data into a hub-loading call; a malicious JSON configuration can redirect an LLM client and load an execution-capable chain.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
