Remote code execution via directory traversal
Published Apr 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Path traversal in SolarWinds Serv-U 15.4.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute code through crafted file paths. SolarWinds has not disclosed the affected Serv-U component or the path-normalization failure that lets a crafted path escape its intended directory. Exploitation requires a highly privileged account and user interaction; successful abuse executes code with access bounded by the Serv-U service account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
