CVE-2024-28058Network attack vector

Sensitive-data access via unrevoked sessions

Published Nov 18, 2024 · Updated Nov 21, 2024

Broken access control in NetWitness Platform before 12.5.1 allows remote attackers to read sensitive data through a revoked user session. The session-management path fails to invalidate an active session when an administrator revokes that user's access, leaving the session usable for impersonation. An attacker needs the still-active session; the documented consequence is unauthorized reading of sensitive data, not modification or service interruption.
