CVE-2024-28023

Code execution via hard-coded queue credentials

Published Jun 11, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Hard-coded credentials in the message queueing mechanism of FOXMAN-UN and UNEM allow local users to expose data or execute code. Hitachi Energy identifies hard-coded passwords but has not disclosed how the queue uses them or which message-handling operation trusts them. Exploitation requires local high-privilege access on FOXMAN-UN R15B PC4 or R16B PC2, or UNEM R15B PC4 or R16B PC2, and can disclose sensitive information, expose restricted functionality, or execute arbitrary code.
