Unauthenticated device-information disclosure via file viewing
Published Mar 28, 2024 · Updated Mar 28, 2025
Improper authentication in NEC Aterm network devices of all versions allows remote attackers to read device information over the LAN. The file-viewing path exposes device data without enforcing the authentication expected for management access, but NEC has not identified the affected file or handler. An attacker must first reach the device from its LAN; the vendor states that WAN-side attacks over the Internet do not reach this behavior.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
