Administrator-level stored XSS via unsanitized settings
Published Mar 19, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Survey Maker 4.0.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through crafted admin settings. The plugin stores admin-setting input without sufficient sanitization and later renders it into pages without output escaping. Administrator-level access is required, and exposure is limited to multisite installations or sites where unfiltered_html is disabled; a visitor who opens an injected page runs the script in that site's browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
